Jeff Barkshire, who has driven his hauler thousands of miles to six different states for the eight Camping World West races run so far this season (three in California), and our team members, who have been piling up the air miles, are looking forward to finally racing closer to home this Saturday, the 26th, at the Evergreen Speedway in Monroe. It will be a 150 lap race with a ten minute break at the half way mark. "It should be fun," Jeff said, "and challenging. Even though it's a home state track, this will be only our fourth start there." We're fortunate to have a new partner for the weekend, Jeff Knight, pastor of The Rock Church in Monroe, and a racer himself in the late model series. You'll see him in the 70 car. His intention to support our team at his home town track, with The Rock's logo on the car, has evolved into something more. Race fans Saturday will not only see the Rock Church acknowledged on Jeff's 46 Centennial Battery Dodge, and on Knight's 70 late model car, but also the image of Knight's good friend and a race fan himself, who was tragically killed while driving his motorcycle. "It became a wonderful opportunity," Knight explained, "to honor a good friend and loyal race fan." "We're
all ready for a good race with home fans," Jeff said. "Now
let's just hope it doesn't rain."
